HELP SEND NDC UPSTATE!

The New York Folklore Society has invited NDC to performed in their hometown of Schenectady, NY. Most of the costs for this tour are covered by the NYFS, but WE NEED YOUR HELP make this fully possible.

We will present two performances and one workshop in Schenectady and Troy. The Grimm project’s uncommon pairing of Western and Caribbean folklore aims to create a space for dialogue among the diverse socio-economic communities living in these areas. Through performance, panel discussion, and workshops, audience members engage in conversation about social issues raised in the work. Workshop leaders include western folklorist Kay Turner, Guyanese cultural artist Rose October-Edun, and NDC dancers with Guyanese and Trinidadian roots. Grimm establishes that folklore is not merely of the past. The characters and topics addressed are current, especially in many African communities.

We appreciate your support! Any amount goes a long way.
